Indie artist, author and podcaster Laura Veirs celebrates the release of her highly anticipated new album The Lookout with a solo show featuring special performances by some of Minnesota’s top musical talent. This comes hot on the heels of the publication of her children’s book Libba: The Magnificent Musical Life of Elizabeth Cotten and the launch of her Midnight Lightning podcast. Veirs’ most recent album case/lang/veirs was a collaborative project with k.d. lang and Neko Case and was called “a stunner” by Paste Magazine.

Hosted by The Current’s Andrea Swensson, this MN Music Summit concert will feature guest performances by Jayanthi Kyle and Prairie Fire Lady Choir and will include a special presentation of the 2018 Minnesota Music Champion Award.

A whimsical house goes up for sale. Who will buy it? And who created it?

A “Minnesota Made” documentary showcasing the magical Bella Luna Studios at The Wolf House NE and the story behind its creation, its creator and how Annette came to be the new owner of this sacred space.

Showing at St. Anthony Main Theatre 3 Saturday April 14 at 2:20 PM. Both Annette and director Nicholas Clausen are scheduled to be in attendance.

Over the summer of 2017, Filmmaker Nick Clausen made a beautiful documentary of The Wolf House in NE Minneapolis. He captured the story of the woman who made the magic space, Lauri Svedberg, and documented the transition of ownership, illustrating how the house continues to still HOWL.

Featured in the documentary are performance artists, “Jeffrey Skemp and Friends”, a.k.a. Jeffrey Skemp, JG Everest, Benjamin Durrant and Karen Townsend, whom Nick filmed at the house last summer.

This incredible crew of performers, joined by special guests, will be returning to the Wolf House for another live set in order to help celebrate the Midwest premier of the film.

The FBOMB (Flash-Bomb) Reading Series is Denver’s only flash fiction reading series! Started in 2013 by Nancy Stohlman, The FBomb is a monthly flash fiction reading series with rotating guest hosts and featured performers, as well as (limited) open mic slots. A beautiful blend of amateur and professional set in the quirky Mercury Cafe.

The mission of the Fbomb is to 1: become better readers of our work; 2: become better promoters of ourselves and each other; 3: share the spotlight with one another, and 4: build community around flash fiction.

We do this through: rotating hosts, a balance of features and open mic, and a commitment to a welcoming, supportive atmosphere for all regardless of experience.

Also featuring Bosso regulars Lynn Gray, Venus DeMars, Hardy Coleman, Irene Alderson, Scott E Vetsch, J William Keyser, Lynette Reini-Grandell, Jeffrey Skemp, Michael “Spam” Hall and Terrence Folz.
